What DO WE DO?
Held every three years since 1973, EAJS International Conferences have developed into one of the most important academic events in the field of Japanese Studies. In 2017 and 2021, more than 1100 Japanese Studies scholars participated in the EAJS Conference. Read more ..

The EAJS Workshops for Doctoral Students aim to create a European multidisciplinary network of advanced graduate students and senior scholars in Japan Studies. The EAJS publishes a Bulletin once a year covering information on the organization itself, on other Japan-related institutions, on forthcoming events in the field of Japanese Studies throughout Europe, on recent publications (also in languages other than English) and summaries of conferences and other meetings. Membership fees include distribution of a PDF version of the EAJS Bulletin.
Membership with the EAJS is always for a period of three calendar years. If you wish to present an accepted proposal at an EAJS conference, you need to become a member by the time of the conference. Read more …
