2023 Call for Films

The European Association for Japanese Studies invites ethnographic film submissions also for its 17th Conference, which will be held in Ghent, Belgium, from the 17th to the 20th of August 2023. As the conference will be hybrid in nature the selected films will not only be screened in a movie theatre in Ghent, but also be made available to delegates in a protected online space from two weeks before the conference to two weeks after the conference. While some will attend screenings at the venue. This serves to maximise the programme’s exposure to the delegates. Please keep this in mind while submitting.

Selected films will be screened at Studio Skoop theatre; a venue in the city centre of Ghent, where also the annual Japanese Film Festival “Japan Square” takes place.
